Welcome to the first ever blog post on my website. From time to time I will feature great fingerstyle guitarists. One of my favorites is Nick Charles, Australia’s virtuoso of acoustic guitar. I met Nick years ago in a small guitar store in Kansas during one of his US tours and we quickly became friends.
It’s appropriate that he is the first featured artist, since Nick has long been one of my music mentors and continues to coach my playing of songs that many hospice clients enjoy.
Below is his arrangement of one of my favorites: Stand By Me, by Ben E. King, Jerry Lieber, and Mike Stoller, from the album "Don't Play That Song!" Single released by Atco Records, 1961.
